The Doctors of Tomorrow program

The Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (FIU HWCOM) Office of Academic Community Programs & Partnerships invites you to apply to the Doctors of Tomorrow (DOT) Program. This is an intensive 6-day residential premedical program for highly motivated college students who are Florida Residents. You may not enroll in either Summer A or Summer C classes concurrently with this program.

The DOT Program includes activities that span the following areas: academic enrichment, learning skills development, communication skills, counseling, career development and character building and enrichment activities. The focus is on helping you to be a better student, and to develop the knowledge, skills, experiences and attributes to be a competitive medical school applicant.

APPLICATION DEADLINE IS MARCH 8, 2024

Program Eligibility

Students must have completed at least sophomore year (60) credits

Should have completed at a minimum 2 semesters of Biology and 2 semesters of Chemistry

Applicants should have a minimum overall GPA of 3.00

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

At least 18 years of age by the start of the program

Additional Criteria

Applicant must be from a group underrepresented in Medicine (URM), or

First-generation college students: students whose parents have not earned a college degree, or

Low socioeconomic status
