The Doctors of Tomorrow program

The Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (FIU HWCOM) Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Community Initiatives (ODEICI) invites you to apply to the Doctors of Tomorrow (DOT) Program. This is an intensive 6-day residential premedical program for highly motivated college students who are Florida Residents. You may not enroll in either Summer A or Summer C classes concurrently with this program.

The DOT Program includes activities that span the following areas: academic enrichment, learning skills development, communication skills, counseling, career development and character building and enrichment activities. The focus is on helping you to be a better student, and to develop the knowledge, skills, experiences and attributes to be a competitive medical school applicant.

Program Eligibility

Students must have completed at least sophomore year (60) credits

Should have completed at a minimum 2 semesters of Biology and 2 semesters of Chemistry

Applicants should have a minimum overall GPA of 3.00

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

At least 18 years of age by the start of the program

Additional Criteria

Applicant must be from a group underrepresented in Medicine (URM), or

First-generation college students: students whose parents have not earned a college degree, or

Low socioeconomic status
